Description
GulfStar Shipping is a freight forwarder handling import containers through the Port of Houston for furniture, machinery, and consumer goods importers. We are hiring a Logistics Coordinator to track shipments from vessel arrival through final delivery. Daily work: update TMS records, book drayage, chase customs releases, email status updates, and escalate delays before customers ask. Fast typing and calm under pressure beat fancy degrees here. Hybrid: Mon/Wed/Fri in our Greenspoint office near I-45; Tue/Thu remote after 90-day training.
Requirements
- 1+ years in logistics, freight, or supply chain coordination
- Comfort with email-heavy communication and phone follow-ups
- Basic Excel — VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Detail orientation for container numbers, dates, and reference IDs
- Import/drayage experience at Port of Houston is a strong plus
